I got divorced almost two years ago with my American wife. We got married too soon, and we really didn't understand each other's cultures. At my age, it's kind of hard to find a woman who shares my culture here in the United States. So I was recommended by my friend to sign up with ArabLounge, which caters to Arabs like myself. I've been a member for almost two weeks now and I'm currently enjoying my time. I'm talking to some women who match my ideal type, and I've set some dates for the next few weeks. Hopefully, I'd finally find the woman I'd spend the rest of my life with through ArabLounge. - Chidi, 39
Design and Usability
The design of ArabLounge is straightforward, but its interface design could be better. The site has a banner ad, and below this is the website’s main menu. The menu consists of the different features of the website, starting with ‘My Home’. This tab is where member updates are posted through a ‘News Feed’. Beside this are the ‘Inbox’, which stores all your messages, and the ‘Activity’, which is a drop-down menu of your winks, views, and connections.
The next tabs are the ‘Matches’ and ’Search’ features, where you can see your match suggestions and browse other profiles to your liking. These tabs are followed by the ‘Community’ drop-down menu of the site’s special features such as the ‘Magazine’. Beside this tab is the ‘Photo Slideshow’, which is similar to a roulette-type matching feature wherein a picture is displayed, and you have to click ‘Yes, I’m interested’ or ‘No, show next’. The last tab is your profile.
