Account registration in AfroRomance takes 7-15 minutes, depending on how quick you can write a paragraph describing your personality and interests. Signing up has three major steps.

AfroRomance is a free search tool where you can choose to view users who were recently active or who recently updated their profiles. You can also set the filter by new members, popular members, and members who have birthdays coming up. The results show users only located in your country. There is also an advanced search filter available which is also free to use. You can search by nickname, keyword, or by ethnicity. You can also have your search terms saved for later use.

Contacting features offered by AfroRomance are simple and straightforward. You can send a flirt through the member search results page by clicking the heart button available. You can also send a sticker by clicking the flirt button available right on the other member’s profile. AfroRomance lets you save your favorite contacts on a list for free, and it lets you keep track of your flirts and the profiles you visited through your profile dashboard. If you wish to see who viewed your profile and added you to their favorites list, you have to be a premium member.

Another thing that only premium members can do is sending messages to other users. However, when another user messages you, you can reply for free.

After the initial information given, completing your profile entails that you fill out some more personal details which are more about your appearance. In the next page, you need to put a headline and fill out some more details that can help show your personality type. A green checkmark ticks the pages if you have completed filling them out. There is also a meter gauge that lets you know of the percentage of completeness of your profile.

AfroRomance also gives you the option to display information about the kind of person you are looking for. You can write a paragraph with a minimum of 20 words describing the personality of your type. When you have completed putting details on your profile, it will be reviewed by the staff before it goes live. This usually takes less than 30 minutes.
