Signing up for an account in TikTok is a quick and easy process. There is no personal information that you need to provide, except for your phone number and email, if you choose to sign up using your mobile number.

Using the app is possible without an account. You can freely view videos and send likes even if you have no TikTok profile. But if you want to follow other users and hashtags, and send messages and comments, you need to sign up for an account. 

On average, TikTok users spend 52 minutes per day on the app. This fact makes member activity high on the short video sharing platform. According to GlobalWebIndex, 68% of TikTok users watch other member’s videos, while 55% of the member base has uploaded at least one video of their own. Also, there has been 1 billion videos viewed every day in the last year.

There are four ways to contact other users on TikTok. The first one is by following their profiles. When you follow another member on the app, you can see their uploaded videos on your newsfeed. The second contacting feature is sending likes. When you send likes, it doesn’t only notify the user, but the suggested videos on your newsfeed are also tailored based on the videos you like.

The next contacting feature is placing comments on a member’s video, which can be seen by other viewers. The last feature is sending direct messages to other users. However, this depends on the privacy settings of the user. Some members only receive messages from people they also follow.

TikTok for Dating

TikTok is not a dating site. Nevertheless, there are still members who found love through the website, so it’s possible for you too! With the right amount of flirting through comments, you can get another user to notice you. Afterwards, you can send that user a direct message and see where it goes.

Most users on TikTok are also game for collaborations, especially if both of you have a significant following and are within the same city. TikTok couples are highly favored by the TikTok audience, especially if their collab videos are entertaining.

Profiles of TikTok users don’t feature much information about the member, except for the short bio they put under their usernames. The profiles show all the videos uploaded by that member, which displays in a grid layout. When you swipe right, you can see the videos that the user liked, unless the user marked that private for only him or her to see.

TikTok members can follow other users on the app. Anyone can see the number of profiles that the user is following. You can also see the number of followers he or she has.
