According to TalkWithStranger's terms and conditions, you must be at least 13 years old and above to join the site. However, there is no way to verify the identity and age of the people who create an account or visit the chat rooms. Registration can only take a few seconds, but it is effortless to create fake accounts as the verification process is not required.

You can start chatting with random people anonymously by changing the words "Someone" to your username and clicking on the "Let's Chat" button. You can do this even without creating an account. This section is also available on the homepage of the site.

If you want to save your game progress, you must create an account before you start playing. TalkWithStranger has a lot of good multiplayer games that you can choose from. Being able to save your game progress is one of the benefits you will have by registering an account.

The random chat feature allows public chat with strangers, and there is no way of telling if a person is a minor or not. You will only have to rely on what the other person is telling you. Good thing, most users avoid contact with minor as evident in some chat conversations we have collected. A particular user immediately left the chat after finding out that he was talking to a 15-year-old female.

You will not be able to know beforehand if you will be partnered with a male or a female. You will need to ask for their age, sex, and location as it will not be indicated in any way especially if you came across him or her in the random chat feature.

Sending photos is allowed, but the other person has to accept the file that you are sending. Most people use this opportunity as a way to advertise their websites as links are not allowed in chat boxes.

As is the case with other chat sites, TalkWithStranger has a lot of fake users. There is no profile photo guideline, and you can use almost any profile photo that you want. It is noticeable, however, that nearly no one uses their real images. Instead, they upload pictures of cartoon characters, animals, flowers, etc. that they took from the internet. Profile photos are also scaled small that you will need to click on them to see them clearly.

Just basing on the profile alone, it seems like it is impossible to get a real date as you will not be able to see how they look like or even get a glimpse of their personalities. No separate page will show a member profile. Instead, a small pop-up box showing a photo, a username, and chat buttons act as the main profile page.

There is no functionality where you can add a paragraph about yourself. Directly having a conversation with the other person is the key if you want to know more about him or her.
