This dating platform is specifically tailored for older singles. Their target group is obviously way older than other dating platforms. However, its user interface seems to be complicated and not very friendly for the older generation.

One major instance is the registration process. When you go to this website, the landing page does not look like it has any clickable buttons. In fact, it only has the highlighted texts that would lead to other pages. The eyes would, of course, immediately go to the orange "Log In" text. But what about those that didn't have an account in the first place? Although you can see the "Sign Up FREE and Browse" text, the words are not highlighted or even clickable. There are no clickable buttons in sight at first glance. 

Of course, being much more tech-savvy, we figured things out immediately by clicking on the orange "Search" button. However, this type of layout may not be the most efficient way for the older generation. The landing page might appear complicated and uninviting to some. A Facebook registration, which would have made signing up a lot smoother and easier, is not available.

Getting past that, once you've clicked on the orange "Search" button, you are redirected to the sign-up page. You will choose from the given choices about your gender, preference, and country. There are only two countries available to choose from--the United States and Canada. After that, you are asked to input your area's zip code, email address, and preferred password. Once you've completed your step, you now have a fully functioning account you can use. 

SeniorBlackPeopleMeet provides a lot of ways to contact other members. However, most of these features are inaccessible or limited in such a way that a free member won't really get that much use out of them at all.

You can view other profiles and like people's photos. You can flirt or favorite other members. But unless you are a paying member, you will not have access to the chat function and see who has flirted and favorited you back. Think of it as hearing without seeing. You will get notified whenever someone wants to connect with you but unless you're on the premium account, you won't be able to see their profiles.

Sadly, there is not much usability for this site unless you pay. You can, however, signup for free and get a feel of this site first. If you see something that interests you about this site and the premium fee--it is already very cheap--is well within your capabilities, then, by all means, invest in SeniorBlackPeopleMeet. 

Profiles on SeniorBlackPeoplemeet are very detailed. Although it isn't mandatory to complete your profile, the site has an effective way of reminding you to. For example, when you log in, you automatically land to a page where you can upload your profile picture with a message saying you are essentially invisible without photos.

The reason behind that is, members can filter out profiles that have no photos. They can opt not to see any photoless profiles in search filters. Contrary to other websites, photos are automatically displayed on the profiles on SeniorBlackPeopleMeet. There is no admin support to review each photo.

During our dating site excursion, we have found zero nudes and vulgar photos despite virtually no photo guidelines and policing. In fact, the photos displayed are quite respectable and decent.

Still, we highly recommend completing your profile to not only optimize the matchmaking process but also to increase your authenticity. You can fill up basic information such as education, income, status, physical appearance, pets, political affiliation, ethnicity and etc.
