Signing up in TGPersonals is easy. You just need to put some basic information such as your display name, email address, username, age, gender, and your state. You would also need to put the sexual orientation of the person you are looking for and if you are looking for friendship, love, sex, or roommates. There is also a field where you need to compose a headline and an about me paragraph with no minimum characters. Once you are done, you just need to tick that you agree to the website’s Terms of Service and enter a captcha, then you are all done with the sign-up. The next step would be to verify your email address to successfully activate your account.

TGPersonals stays true to its promise to its members—that all features are free of charge as long as the site is running. This means that all ways to contact another member is free and made easy.

There are three main ways in how you can interact with other users:

1. Add them as a “Crush”. This puts them on your crush list, and if you are liked back, each of you will belong to each other’s match list.
2. Send them a message. You can do this by clicking the “Send a message” button on the other user’s profile.
3. Add them as friends. When you get a friend in TGPersonals, you get to be updated with his or her activity on your Activity dashboard.

TGPersonals also has a blog feature where users can post entries about any subject, as long as such does not violate the site's terms and conditions. Blogs are usually used by users to strike a forum-like conversation and to meet like-minded people.

The profiles in TGPersonals feature limited details. The basic form you fill out during your signup are the only pieces of information that are displayed on your profile. This includes your headline and "about me" compositions, your age, gender, zip code, city, and state. It also shows if you are looking for love, sex, friendship, or roommates and the gender orientation you are interested in. Aside from these pieces of basic information, your profile also has the blog entries you posted, your friends, photo albums, and website activity—all on the right sidebar. On the left sits your profile photo with action buttons such as “Add crush”, “Add friend”, “Block user”, “Report user”, and “Send a message” right below it.

Most profiles in TGPersonals somewhat look incomplete. This is due to the fact that most do not upload photo albums after creating an account. The act of adding friends is also secondary as you don’t need to add a user in order to send him or her a message. Most members in TGPersonals use its Blog feature to strike a conversation, aside from, of course, personal messaging.
