Signing up for an account on Open Minded takes only a couple of minutes of your time. It's one of the nice features of this site. It is free of charge so you've got nothing to lose.

First, you have to input your email address, username, and nominated your password. An account activation link will be sent to the email that you've provided.

Once you click the link from the email, you will be redirected to a page where you need to upload a profile photo. You have the option to skip this as well as the completing of your profile information.

All your photos will undergo the approval process. Once you get at least one approved, you will be able to use the other features of the website.

Whether you are single, in a relationship or marriage, signing up for Open Minded is one thing that you can try. 

Note: The site is currently on break for signups and logins until further notice. It is still active though, and it displays the links to its sister-sites. You may also check on their social media accounts which are still running.

As previously mentioned, before you can use the contacting features of Open Minded, you need to have at least one approved photo on your Public album. This is actually good as it lessens the risks of members interacting with fake profiles.

All contacting features of Open Minded are free to use, and there is no limit in doing so. However, a paid membership will let you see who’s viewed your profile and who has put you in their Favorites list, which could help you gauge a person’s interest in you.

Basic and advanced searching options are available. You can use different keywords to make your search better and fit your expectations. Physical characteristics, relationship status and profile information are some of the things that you can use when searching for other members.

The site also does matching to its members with the same interests. This is based on the questionnaire which is about different categories including, but not limited to your lifestyle and beliefs.

Profiles on Open Minded show little details about a member. However, the essential information is there such as what the member is looking for, his/her age, and location. As Open Minded is more of a casual dating site, those details matter more to another member looking for a hook-up than any other kind of information. 

Nevertheless, if one wishes to see who the member is—personality and character—you can look at his or her answers to the Matching questions. Responses to these questions can give you a glimpse of what the member values, and how he or she thinks. It’s more informative than any other detail the member puts on his or her profile.
