Signing up on Isodate takes only less than a minute. The registration process is quite simple and straightforward. While there are no Facebook or any other social media registration available, it will not take too long for you to create an account. You must input your basic information such as first name, last name, gender, birthday, location, mobile number, and nominated password. After that, you must upload a profile picture.

Once completed, a verification link is sent to you via email. The email only takes seconds to arrive in your inbox. You must click the link in order to activate your account. Then, you can proceed to log in.

We were surprised at how bare minimum the entire registration process was. There are no further inquiries about our personalities, hobbies, professions. We thought for a dating site that aims to match people, they would ask us this vital information in order to provide quality matches.

Creating an account on Isodate isn’t enough to get you matches or even meet other people. To meet other members, you must attend events. Instead of having a monthly subscription or buying credits to use contacting features, you must purchase tickets to attend virtual events hosted by Isodate. Each event has specific dating criteria pertaining to religion, hobbies, lifestyles, age groups, etc. If you find an event that specifies the traits you have, you must attend that event. Tickets range from $18 to $20.

In events, you will be participating in a virtual speed date. Living up to its slogan, “Swipe less and date more,” Isodate nudges you to mingle and speak to people more, even if it's only through video chat. A date typically lasts about three to five minutes. According to Isodate, you will have an average of 15 video dates per event. You are also given a “Like” or “Pass” option during the event so you can customize your matches better.

Once done with the event, you can head over to your “Connections” tab to see your matches. You can go on to chat with your matches, get to know each other better, and hopefully cultivate a solid relationship with them. It is quite an unorthodox and revolutionary way of mingling with other people.

Isodate’s primary focus is the virtual events where you go on speed dates. Going on the site alone wouldn’t get you a match. You must participate in events in order to see other people. When you log in, you won’t be able to see other people’s profiles. If you don’t want to participate in any events, signing up on Isodate is practically worthless. You can only view your own profile which displays the basic information you’ve shared upon registration.

You would only see other members once you finished speed dating and have matches. They will show up under the “Connections” tab. Chatting with them is apparently free. The only purchase you will be making is purchasing tickets to these virtual events. Granted, during the current pandemic, meeting people virtually in video chats seem to be the much safer version at the moment.
